# Partner vehicle search filters

> Practical examples and current availability for filtering LMN auction and dealer inventory.

Use `GET /v1/vehicles` to search auction and Encar dealer listings. This guide summarizes useful combinations and current KR availability; the [Vehicles reference](/endpoints/vehicles) remains the full parameter contract.

## Availability in KR

As of October 20, 2026, 22:47 KST, KR production supports fuel filtering, combined make-free search, pagination and price sorting, retained make/model/sub-model catalogs, `transmission=auto`, seat-count bounds, engine-displacement bounds, and drivetrain groups. Filter availability can differ by environment; a disabled filter returns `400 validation_error`.

The `2wd` / `4wd` drivetrain groups and updated source-specific fuel normalization are live in KR production. See the [changelog](/changelog) for rollout status.

## Search without a make or model

Combine source, fuel, price, year, body type, and sort without specifying a make or model:

```bash theme={null}
curl -G -H "x-api-key: $LMN_API_KEY" https://api.lmnauto.com/v1/vehicles \
  --data-urlencode "source=dealer" \
  --data-urlencode "fuel=gasoline" \
  --data-urlencode "price_max_usd=15000" \
  --data-urlencode "year_min=2020" \
  --data-urlencode "body_type=suv" \
  --data-urlencode "sort=price_asc" \
  --data-urlencode "limit=24"
```

`source=dealer` searches Encar retail listings. `source=auction,dealer` combines both sources. Comma-separated fuel values use OR semantics. Source-specific fuel normalization is live in KR production as of 22:47 KST on October 20, 2026; other environments may differ.

## Continue through every page

Use `sort=price_asc` or `sort=price_desc` with `limit` and pass the response's `next_cursor` back unchanged alongside the same filters and sort. A dealer scan can return a short or empty page with `page_cut_short: true` and a non-null cursor when its request budget runs out. Continue until `next_cursor` is `null`; a short or empty page alone does not mean the search is exhausted.

```bash theme={null}
curl -G -H "x-api-key: $LMN_API_KEY" https://api.lmnauto.com/v1/vehicles \
  --data-urlencode "source=auction,dealer" \
  --data-urlencode "sort=price_asc" \
  --data-urlencode "limit=50" \
  --data-urlencode "cursor=$NEXT_CURSOR"
```

The cursor is opaque and tied to the query and sort. Price sorts support combined auction and dealer pagination. Inventory can change while you page, so a live walk is not a snapshot. Body-type searches can be slow and return short or empty pages with `page_cut_short: true` and a continuation cursor. Continue through it. Search results do not guarantee that listings are ingested promptly or that every future listing will be covered.

## Use the retained catalogs

Fetch `GET /v1/vehicles/facets?source=dealer` for retained make, model, and sub-model vocabulary, including catalog entries that currently have no stock. Use `GET /v1/vehicles/trims?make=Kia&model=Sorento` for trim labels seen on Encar in the preceding 30 days. Catalog presence describes accepted vocabulary, not availability or a stock count; catalogs and search results do not guarantee that every eligible vehicle or feature is represented. Facets refresh when a catalog is published; Encar catalog harvesting is weekly. A dealer-only facet response can show `transmissions: []` even though `transmission=auto` is accepted and applied as a search filter. See [Facets and trims](/endpoints/vehicles#get-v1-vehicles-facets).

## Filter by transmission, seats, or displacement

```http theme={null}
GET /v1/vehicles?source=dealer&transmission=auto&engine_cc_min=1900&engine_cc_max=2000&sort=price_asc
GET /v1/vehicles?source=dealer&seats_min=7&seats_max=7&transmission=auto&sort=price_asc
```

`engine_cc_min` and `engine_cc_max` are inclusive integer cc bounds; unknown displacement is excluded when a bound is used. Electric and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles do not match a displacement bound; hybrids are filtered by their engine displacement. Dealer seat filters support exact bucket boundaries: `seats_min` may be 1 or 3–10, and `seats_max` may be 2–9. Other dealer or mixed-source bounds return `400 validation_error` with the supported values, except `seats_min=2`, which selects Encar's “2 or fewer” bucket and can include one-seat vehicles.

Auction seat filtering matches a row when any value in `seating_capacity_options` falls within the requested range. This can include an unconfirmed possibility. `seating_capacity` is the auction-published count, while `seating_capacity_confirmed` identifies whether the possibilities are confirmed. Use the published count or require `seating_capacity_confirmed: true` when confirmation matters. Unknown seat counts are excluded by a seat filter. See [seat-count coverage](/endpoints/vehicles#seat-count-coverage) and [engine displacement](/endpoints/vehicles#engine-displacement).

## Fuel categories

These categories and normalization are live in KR production as of 22:47 KST on October 20, 2026. Other environments may differ.

The auction vocabulary has 12 categories: `cng`, `diesel`, `diesel_electric`, `electric`, `gasoline`, `gasoline_cng`, `gasoline_electric`, `gasoline_lpg`, `hydrogen`, `lpg`, `lpg_electric`, and `other`. Encar's eight categories are `diesel`, `diesel_electric`, `electric`, `gasoline`, `gasoline_electric`, `gasoline_lpg`, `lpg`, and `other`.

The normalization keeps unknown auction fuel as `null`; a nonblank unknown Encar fuel maps to `other`. A requested category with no Encar equivalent, such as `cng` or `hydrogen`, matches no Encar rows. The bounded Encar search behind `other` may not discover future source labels. HEV and PHEV are not distinguished in the source fuel category. See [fuel categories](/endpoints/vehicles#fuel-categories) and the [changelog](/changelog).

## Drivetrain groups

In KR production as of 22:47 KST on October 20, 2026, `drivetrain=2wd` groups `FWD`, `RWD`, and `2WD`; `drivetrain=4wd` groups `AWD` and `4WD`. Multiple groups use OR semantics. Rows without a confident classification are excluded.

```http theme={null}
GET /v1/vehicles?source=auction,dealer&drivetrain=4wd&sort=price_asc
```

If drivetrain filtering is disabled in an environment, requests carrying `drivetrain` return `400 validation_error`. See [drivetrain filtering](/endpoints/vehicles#drivetrain-filtering).
